Flash Player Crashing
So for whatever reason, Flash Player isn’t stable on my new computer. It crashes frequently when viewing Flash content. Most notably is Stickam, but it will occur when viewing YouTube, or other flash content. It doesn’t matter if I am using Firefox or IE, it happens with both browsers. To make it even more frustrating, it doesn’t happen consistently. I could be viewing a flash video for an hour no problem. Other times it will crash after 30 seconds.Every time it crashes, no matter what browser, the crash report always implicates Flash Player and exception code c0000005. None of this makes sense because everything else on my brand new computer works perfectly fine. I don’t have an issue with anything else on my computer except for Flash Player.
I have tried:
- Both versions 9 and 10
- Uninstalling/Reinstalling
- Virtual machine with XP SP3 clean install
- Virtual machine with XP SP2 clean install
- Windows Updates
- Audio, LAN, chipset, bios, video drivers are all up to date
- Uninstalled webcam
- Checked all latest hardward drivers are installed
- Both browsers with no add ons
- Installed Shockwave
- Uninstalled video drives
- Uninstalled audio drivers
- Unplugged USB hub
- Plugged in a corded mouse
- Boot to Safe Mode with Networking
- Memtest86 ~11 hours, 17 passes, no errors
- Ubuntu 8.04 live cd with flash player 9 installed, same issue
- WIndows Vista SP1 64bit
- Each RAM stick individual and in a different DIMM slot.
- Firefox Portable 3.1 beta1
- Disabled write combining
- Disabled hardware acceleration
- Swapped NIC from old computer to new
- SubInACL permssions reset
- Disconnected dvd burner
