Beauty and the Geek 05x08

The geeks and beauties get a little vacation in Big Bear where some things become heated between Joe and Tara. Everyone is very excited about the trip away from the mansion, that is except for Chris. He thinks the game is at a moment where he has to step it up and be serious. However this makes him come across as being distant from the group during the trip.

While everyone is having a good time, some things become heated between Joe and Tara. It’s made obvious that Joe has a crush on Tara. Unfortunately she doesn’t feel the same way. In fact, she is closer with Tommy than with Joe. This makes Joe extremely jealous. When faced with choosing a team to eliminate at the end the arguing turns into a fight where everything gets laid out. Basically Tara doesn’t like Joe and can’t stand him.

So the challenge at Big Bear is a team challenge. The beauties have to build a sled. But they must ask their geek counter part for the parts which are hanging on a snowman. Most of the teams have a difficult time communicating what they need to build the sled.

Once the sled has been put together both team members must sled climb a hill and sled down together crossing a finish line without falling off. Jason and Kristina are first with their sled but cannot get through the challenge, giving the victory to Tom and Amanda. They also win immunity from being eliminated that night.

Each team gets to vote for one other team, they think should be eliminated. Everyone ends up voting for one of the other teams, forcing a tie breaking vote by Tom and Amanda who choose Jason and Kristina to be eliminated.

It was an alright episode. The show is finally back in the spirit of what the show has always been and I like that. That’s how it should be.
